Ghana’s Poultry Investment Highlights a US$400 Million Import-Substitution Opportunity
An investment agreement announced on 22 October advanced a US$270 million poultry programme intended to strengthen domestic production, with Ghana’s annual imports of chicken and poultry products reported at approximately US$400 million. The project’s first phase targets 20,000 tonnes of processed broiler products per year and could create demand for market sizing, price analysis and supply-demand forecasting; the import figure is a reported annual market estimate rather than a new contract value, and HPC can support business intelligence and market analytics.
